I am helping my son do a report on NS because his Grandfathers relatives were from there. I want to say Hi to Lela A. I had a great time when I visited when I was a teen. She was very nice to me. Now that my Dad is gone, Stanley A, I think my son wants to find out more about where his relatives were from. Thanks and Hello to Lela. My husband and I may visit Advocate Harbor this summer.

glad I found the website. I spent the first 18 summers in Advocate and also own a small cottage and some land there. Soon I will retire and will be able to spend more time there. Great job on the website. John Mills Toms River NJ USA.

I was so excited to hear about the Bluegrass Festival! I am sad I will miss it by a couple of weeks. Maybe next year.

I grew up in Spencer's Island and attended ADHS and still visit family and friends each year. This year I visited in February so unfortunately won't be attending the Blue Grass Festival. I will keep my fingers crossed for good weather. Have fun everyone.

I am so pleased to see Advocate Harbour on the map. The sunset picture is absolutely beautiful and now my kids can show the rest of their family and friends exactly where there "Spicer roots" came from. We hope everyone is well and wish you all the best at your 1st annual Bluegrass Festival.

What a wonderful web site. Thanks to Lori(Morris) Benjamin for emailing and letting me know about it. I have lived in this area all my life and have never seen any more beautiful pictures anywhere. This site is fabulous! I grew up in Advocate Harbour, and still have family there.
These pictures took me back to some of the places I used to play as a child.
Wish I could be there, but I now live in British Columbia and cannot afford to
go back at this time. Thanks for some lovely memories.

Great site.Sounds like a fun weekend. I grew up in Apple River & still have family in the area.Our children love visiting & especially the Apple River swimming hole (With the jumping rope)Looking forward to a great time & seeing old friends at the Festival!!!!

A great sight -- really enjoyed visiting every aspect of it. Don't know if I will be able to attend as my daughter is graduating that week but I do know it will be very enjoyable to everyone who makes the effort. I know this will get to be an annual event so will be able to attend the next one. Keep up the good work!

I am a guitar picker that grew up in Advocate. Lillian Ward showed me my first chords on a guitar. Two of the early settlers in Advocate were Robert and William Mills. The Mills Road was named after them. William was my Great Grandfather. In days gone by I used to play there for dances weddings (like Connie & Brian Ells)and shows a fair bit. I look forward to seeing old friends at the festival.
